The event will be held on the east side of Silverlake Boulevard, north of the dog park.

WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Division area aims to provide awareness and information to the public of products that help prevent catalytic converter thefts.

LAPD Northeast Auto Detectives and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Taskforce for Regional Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP) will be applying VIN numbers onto the catalytic converters of anyone who requests the service.

The event will feature a static display of tools used by catalytic converter theft rings, catalytic converters recovered from recent arrests, and vendors on hand with catalytic converter anti-theft devices.
