Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation Board of Directors and guest speaker, Assistant Chief George Gascon will be presenting five scholarship awards which were based on merit. Each student selected has been honored to receive $5,000 per year for four years, totaling $20,000 each. The five selected were among 50 applicants, all of whom are dependents of Los Angeles Police Department personnel. Qualifications for the award were based on academic achievement, community service, an essay, and an oral interview.

Daniel Handayan, son of Detective II Cora Handayan, Central Area, San Marino High School, 2701 Huntington Drive, San Marino
Dorlyne Henry, daughter of Detective I Averill Henry, Detective Headquarters Division, Martin Luther King High School, 9301 Wood Road, Riverside
Kevin O’Donnell, son of Sergeant II Michael O’Donnell, North Hollywood Area, Saugus High School, 210 West Centurion Way, Saugus
Shane Rogers, son of Detective III Bernard Rogers, Robbery-Homicide Division, Agoura High School, 28545 West Driver Avenue, Agoura Hills
