Los Angeles: On February 18, 2003 at 10:45 a.m., LAPD West Valley Area officers responded to an "Ambulance Stabbing" radio call that resulted in the discovery of two stabbing victims, with one victim dying a day later from his injuries.
The officers responded to the 20000 block of Sherman Way in Winnetka, a single-family residence, and were met by a resident, one of the stabbing victims. The 35 year-old male victim told officers that he and his girlfriend were inside his home when 35 year-old Marcos Lux of Van Nuys, entered the house and confronted the couple. A shoving match ensued and according to the account of two witnesses, Lux pulled out a knife and began to repeatedly stab the man. The victim managed to take the knife away from Lux, and in fear of his safety, the victim then stabbed Lux in the neck and chest. Wrestling the knife away, Lux fled the scene with the weapon and was then seen driving a vehicle eastbound on Sherman Way.
A second police radio call was generated minutes later regarding an injured male found near a bus bench in front of a Burger King restaurant located at Sherman Way and Winnetka Avenue. At that location, the responding officers discovered suspect Marcos Lux lying unconscious suffering from stab wounds. Lux was transported to a local hospital where he was admitted in grave condition. Lux’s blood stained vehicle was discovered nearby and a knife used in the attack was also recovered.
On February 19, 2003, at 12:45 a.m., Lux died from his injuries. No arrests were made and West Valley Area Homicide Detectives are continuing the investigation.
