Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Operations Valley Bureau (OVB) Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting resulting in the death of 52-year-old Mario Palacios, a resident of North Hollywood.
On Friday, August 25, 2023 around 3:25 p.m., LAPD North Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting at the 6100 block of Carpenter Avenue. Responding officers located a single male victim down in the street, suffering from a single gunshot wound. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.
The investigation revealed, the victim was walking south on Carpenter Avenue when a vehicle pulled up alongside the victim. A single shot was fired from inside the vehicle, striking the victim. The suspect then drove north on Carpenter Avenue.
