Los Angeles: Officers responded to a “Shots Fired” radio call and found a victim of a gunshot wound lying outside a residence.
On March 14, 2011 at around 6:15 a.m., officers from LAPD’s Foothill Area Police Station responded to the 10200 block of Sunland Ave in the Shadow Hills Area to investigate a possible assault with a deadly weapon crime. When they arrived at the location, they found 54-year-old Edward McMahon, a resident of Los Angeles, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest lying in the yard of a home.
Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence where McMahon was found. Several firearms were located and the homeowner, a 35-year-old White male, was detained but later released pending further investigation.
