Los Angeles: On January 28, 2008, at approximately 11:10 p.m., a man stopped for a traffic light on 48th Street at Western Avenue sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 17-year-old Darione Eugene Page, was approached on the passenger side of his vehicle by an unknown, Black suspect who fired numerous shots into the car. The victim managed to drive away from the scene but collided with a parked vehicle in the 1400 block of 48th Street. Police and fire personnel arrived at the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance where he failed to respond to emergency medical treatments and was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m.
The suspects, who included the assailant and the driver of the assailant’s car, were last seen heading south on Western Avenue in a faded 70s-model, square vehicle with red primer spots. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
