"Man Initially Attempts Pretext to Enter Woman’s Home"
Los Angeles – On Friday, October 13, 2000, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the victim (a 79-year-old Hispanic woman) was home alone on the 2300 block of Elmgrove Street when an adult male and female child knocked on her front door. When the victim opened her door, the male suspect asked her if she would give him some food to eat. When the victim refused, the suspect asked the woman if the girl with him could use the bathroom inside her house. The victim again refused and the suspect and child left her home.
Approximately 20 minutes later, the suspect returned without the child. When the victim opened her front door, she observed that he was holding a flower in one hand and a knife in the other. The suspect grabbed the victim and forced her into the residence. The suspect robbed the victim of U.S. currency and then led her to a bedroom where he sexually assaulted her. He then fled the scene through the front door.
The suspect is described as a male Caucasian, clean-cut, dark colored eyes, brown hair, 5′ 9", medium build and approximately 27 years old. He was wearing a maroon T-shirt and dark pants.
The girl who initially accompanied the suspect to the residence is described as Caucasian and approximately 12 years old (no further description is available at this time).
No suspect vehicle was seen.
