Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Detectives are investigating the shooting that claimed the life of 22-year-old Luis Perez early Sunday morning.
On February 26, 2006, at about 12:05 a.m., Luis Perez and a group of friends where standing in the 300 block of Gramercy Place, when two gunmen ran up to them and began shooting. Perez was hit in the chest and a second man was shot in the leg. The suspects got into a waiting car and drove away from the scene.
Both men were taken to a local hospital. Perez died shortly thereafter. The second man was treated and released.
The suspects are described as three Hispanic men. The first was bald, 5’9" to 5’10", 190 pounds, 20 to 25 years old, and was wearing a brown jacket. The second man was 5’5", 150 pounds, 20 to 25 years, and was wearing a long white shirt. The third man is only described as a Hispanic.
The suspect’s car was a faded red 1990’s Toyota four door.
This crime is believed to be gang related.
