Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.Van Nuys: Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for killing a 40-year-old man.
On February 13, 2023, around 7:00 a.m., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to a radio call of a man down near the alley behind the 14500 block of Calvert Street. Upon arrival, officers located a victim unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene. His name is being withheld pending notification to family members.
Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting occurred around 2:00 a.m. At this time there is no suspect description.
