WHY: On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, President Barack Hussein Obama II delivered his 2015 State of the Union Address to both houses of Congress and to the citizens of the United States. Within his historic address, the President acknowledged several prominent Americans who are making a difference in their country through perseverance, patriotism and the desire to enrich the lives of the people and communities around them. LAPD Captain Tingirides and Sergeant Tingirides, exemplify those making positive changes in the community with their involvement in the Community Safety Partnership program and were invited to attend the State of the Union Address and sit in the box with First Lady Michelle Obama.
During the Media Availability, Captain and Sergeant Tingirides will be available to answer questions about their experience to the White House and share information about the Community Safety Partnership program.
