WHO: LAPD Captain Natalie Cortez, Commanding Officer, Mission Area LAPD Captain Johnny Smith, Patrol Commanding Officer, Mission Area LAPD Officers Marco Mendoza and Melissa Sanchez LAPD Mission Area Police Officers Community Volunteers 900-1000 community members, families, and business partners of Mission Area
WHY: To strengthen the relationship between the LAPD, the community, and the businesses in Mission Area while promoting health and fitness. This event was established to raise funds for our Mission youth programs ages 9-18 years. These programs teach our youth the importance of community service and core values, leading them on the right track to becoming productive and proactive members of society.
VISUAL: Demonstrations by LAPD SWAT and Bomb Squad
Hula hoop contest, dance contest, and raffles
Photo booth, face painting, jumper, snow cones, and numerous sponsor booths including free flu shots
