Los Angeles: On Sunday, February 17, 2002, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a 49-year-old woman was walking northbound on Roseview Avenue in a marked crosswalk with her seven and nine year-old sons. The family was attempting to cross Cypress Avenue when they were hit by a 1980’s gray Chevy van with no windows. The driver of the van failed to stop and identify him or herself or render aid to the victims.
Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel transported the mother and her two sons to a local hospital where she was admitted for further treatment. The mother sustained fractures to both legs, and a dislocated left shoulder. She is in stable condition. Her nine year-old son complained of pain to his left leg, and her seven year-old son sustained a bloody nose. Both children were treated and released from the hospital.
The Los Angeles Police Department requests the public’s assistance in locating the driver and/or the vehicle.
