Murder Suspect Captured

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire homicide detectives have arrested murder suspect Boris Bonilla.

On September 21, 2008, Jose Enriquez, a Los Angeles resident, was shot and killed during a gang-related confrontation.  During the ensuing investigation Detectives from the Wilshire Homicide Unit identified Boris Bonilla as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha street gang and the shooter responsible for the death of Jose Enriquez.  Unfortunately, it seemed as though Bonilla managed to elude detectives at every turn.  Detectives, through the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, sought and secured a warrant for the arrest of Bonilla.               

On December 7, 2008, information led detectives to a location in the 3100 block of West 8th Street in the City of Los Angeles.  Detectives and the officers from the Wilshire Patrol Division and the K-9 Unit deployed on the location and Boris Bonilla was captured without incident.  

Boris Bonilla, 31 years of age, was booked and charged for the murder of Jose Enriquez and is currently housed at the Wilshire jail facility.  His bail was set at $2,015,000.
