New Reward Offered for Murderer of Teen

Los Angeles: Council member Ed P. Reyes sponsored the renewal of a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of any persons connected with the murder of 19-year-old Sean Williams, which occurred in Cypress Park, January 31, 2004. The announcement of the new reward was made on February 7, 2006, what would have been Williams’ 21st birthday.
"Our hearts and prayers are with the family and friends of Sean Williams, especially during this difficult time of year," Reyes said. "I urge anyone with information about the murder to please come forward and give the family some peace of mind."
Williams was shot to death around 1 o’clock in the morning in the 500 block of Avenue 28 in the Cypress Park area of Los Angeles. Williams was driving his car when three Hispanic men drove along side him and fired. Williams lost control of his car and crashed into a building.
"We have no motive for the shooting and no suspects have been identified," said LAPD spokesman Lieutenant Paul Vernon. "Someone out there has information about who is involved. Perhaps this reward is incentive enough to come forward."
Williams lived in Eagle Rock and worked at the Cheesecake Factory in Pasadena.
