WHY:
On December 25, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a large street takeover occurred at the intersection of Florence Ave and Crenshaw Bl. As three vehicles were actively engaged in an exhibition of speed, one of the vehicles (black Chevy Camaro) lost control and collided into a group of pedestrians standing on the northwest corner of Florence Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard. Unfortunately, one of the pedestrians sustained a fatal injury as result of the collision. South Traffic Detectives located 6-7 additional victims on videos obtained over the past few days and are seeking the public’s help in identifying them. At least three appeared to be critically injured.
South Traffic Detectives are still working on confirming the identity of the suspect responsible for the collision. We’re also releasing video/images of the suspect and announcing the $50,000 reward for any information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of
the person responsible for striking and killing Elyzza Guajaca.
