The suspect arrested for the Assault with a Deadly Weapon on Coronet Drive, has been booked for the murder on Alonzo Place. His information is as follows:

47-Years-Old

Date and Time of Arrest: 03/18/21 @ 1:00 p.m.
Location of Arrest: 17600 block of Karen Drive
Charge: 187(a) PC - Murder
Bail: $2,000,000.00


Encino: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for killing a 100-year-old man.

On March 18, 2021, around 11:50 a.m., West Valley patrol officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon in the 4400 block of Coronet Drive in Encino. Upon arrival, the victim and several other citizens directed officers to a male White suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. An axe and knife were covered at scene.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require treatment.

Around 12:50 p.m., West Valley patrol officers responded to a Fire Department request in the 17700 block of Alonzo Place. An elderly man was located with numerous contusions and lacerations inside his residence. He was pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Valley Bureau Homicide detectives have a suspect in custody for the initial Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The investigation is in its preliminary stages. Detectives will be interviewing the suspect to determine if he is responsible for the elderly man's death.
