Pacific Division: On May 29, 2021, at 9:20 P.M., a male was riding a motorized scooter northbound Lincoln Boulevard on the east sidewalk and collided with a pedestrian. Upon impact, the pedestrian fell onto the sidewalk hitting his head, subsequently the male rider along with his female passenger were ejected off the motorized scooter and collided onto the sidewalk.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the pedestrian. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The male rider remained at scene and was arrested for DUI. His name is Skene, James Cody, Date of Birth 10/31/1991, Booking #6188837.
The investigation is ongoing. The victim is described as a male 91 years-old, his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Drivers and riders are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
