On April 27, 2022, at around 3:25 p.m., an off-duty Police Officer II assigned to Olympic Division experienced a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) while inside his residence. According to the officer, while he was cleaning his pistol he inadvertently fired a round into his bedroom wall. The round penetrated the shared wall of an adjoining apartment. The officer was alone in his residence and was not injured. There were two individuals inside the neighboring apartment at the time of the incident, no one was injured.
Force Investigation Division detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
