Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) NRF048-24eo

Los Angeles: On September 25, 2024, at around 8:50 p.m., an on-duty police officer assigned to 77th Street Division, was downloading a non-departmental shotgun recovered from a suspect who was arrested earlier. While downloading the shotgun a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge occurred. The fired projectiles (birdshot) came to rest on the floor.

No officers or community members were injured as a result of this incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
