Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) – NRF054-21ne

On October 5, 2021, at around noon, an on-duty Southwest Area police officer responded to the LAPD Harbor Pistol Range for qualification. The officer unloaded his magazine and pistol at the trunk of his police vehicle. During this process, a Non-Tactical Unintentional Discharge (NTUD) occurred into the trunk of the police vehicle.
No one was injured during this incident.
Force Investigation Division (FID) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
