Los Angeles; On November 21, 2023, around 02:05 a.m., Newton Division officers were conducting a search for a handgun thrown on the 57 Freeway during an on-going vehicle pursuit. As the officers were conducting the search, a vehicle rear-ended the officers. The crash caused severe injuries to the officers.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured parties to University of California Irvine Medical Center for medical treatment.
The Multi-Disciplinary Collision Investigation Team (MCIT) responded to the scene to conduct an Administrative Report of the crash.
