Olympic Station Opens its Doors to the Media; Chief Bratton, Captain Blake and Other Dignitaries to Conduct First Formal Uniform Inspection

WHY:    
In March 2002, the voters in Los Angeles passed a $600 million dollar public safety measure to improve, renovate and expand public safety facilities.  Olympic Station is the  newest LAPD station and on Wednesday, January 7th, Chief Bratton along with other dignitaries will conduct a formal uniform inspection of all Olympic Station personnel.  After the inspection, Captain Matt Blake and his staff will provide exclusive station tours for the media.  

On Saturday, January 17, 2009, the Los Angeles Police Department will invite the media and the community to meet the men and women assigned to LAPD’s 21st police station and celebrate Olympic Division’s Grand Opening.  The Grand Opening will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, local entertainment, static and active displays from the Department’s specialized units, station tours and more.   

Parking is made available for the media on Menlo Avenue between 11th Street and Pico Boulevard.
