Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Harbor Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) who shot and killed 23-year-old Rene Torres Moreida in San Pedro.
On Sunday, July 3, 2011, at around 12:55 a.m., Moreida was standing on the sidewalk near 14th Street and Mesa Avenue with his brother. Unknown suspect(s) approached both brothers on foot and shot the two several times striking them. Moreida died at scene from his injuries.
Los Angeles City Fire Department Personnel responded and transported the wounded brother to a local hospital.
There is no suspect description and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
