Los Angeles: On Sunday morning, around 6:10 a.m., Rampart Area Patrol Officers responded to a shooting investigation that occurred at 6th Street and Bonnie Brae Avenue.
When the officers arrived, they saw two victims on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Manuel de Jesus Guarchaj, a 30-year-old Guatemalan man who lived in Los Angeles, was treated and transported to a local hospital, but died upon arrival.
The second victim was also standing at the corner of 6th Street and Bonnie Brae Avenue, heard the gunfire and was struck by a stray bullet. He was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound to the lower body.
Detectives investigating the shooting learned that the two suspects, described as male Hispanics drove up to victim Guarchaj, shot him several times in the upper torso then drove westbound on 6th Street away from Bonnie Brae Avenue.
