Los Angeles: On Sunday, February 10, 2002 at approximately 12:00 p.m., Roberto Molina, 18 years -old, was standing on the west sidewalk on the 4400 block of Stauton Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) in a dark colored vehicle drove up to the location. A passenger exited the vehicle armed with a semi-automatic riffle. The suspect fired a minimum of eight shots while the victim ran northbound. The suspect(s) were last seen east on Vernon Avenue.
The victim sustained multiple gunshots to the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The homicide is being investigating as a gang motivated murder.
The shooting occurred across the street from the rear entrance of the Alameda Swap Meet. Numerous people were in the area at the time of the incident.
