Operation Sleigh Trails

Camp Pendelton Naval Hospital in Oceanside and San Diego Balboa Naval Hospital

Deputy Chief Michael Hillman and LAPD personnel
Why:
LAPD personnel will be driving to Camp Pendelton to deliver gifts to the wounded men and women of the Armed Services who have served in the Iraq War. The caravan’s first stop will be Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Station and continue to Balboa Naval Hospital, delivering gifts to the families and toys for the children. This is the LAPD’s way of saying thank you to the men and women of the Armed Services.
The Caravan will leave Central Station at 6:00 a.m., and will arrive at Camp Pendelton at 7:15 a.m. Media will be allowed onto the base through the San Luis Rey Gate, which can be accessed from Mission Avenue off Interstate 5.
Media interested in covering this event must call Camp Pendleton Media Relations Office at 760-725-5044 no later than 4:00 p.m., on Monday. Entry to the base will be restricted to non registered outlets.
