The ORCTF has made 20 arrests between August 21 and September 10, 2023, and filed (26) counts of 211 P.C.-Robbery, (2) counts of 459 P.C.-Burglary, (14) counts of 487.P.C.-Grand Theft, (9) counts of 182-P.C. – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, (4) counts of 490.4 P.C.- Organized Retail Theft, (2) counts of 215 P.C.-Carjacking, (5) counts of 594(a) P.C.-Vandalism, (1) count of 30305(a)(1) P.C.-Possession of Ammunition, and (1) count of 20002(a)VC – Hit and Run. There are two suspects which have yet to have criminal charges filed.

As we continue to seek out additional suspects, anyone with information about these types of incidents, or the identity of additional suspects, is asked to call the Organized Retail Crime Task Force, Detective Arnold, at (818) 374-9425.

 

Los Angeles: The City of Los Angeles, and neighboring cities, have recently experienced an increase in “Flash-Rob” method retail crime incidents conducted by multiple suspects targeting various retail establishments throughout the Los Angeles region.

On August 21, 2023, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Commercial Crimes Division (CCD) commenced the Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF) in an attempt to resolve this issue.

LAPD ORCTF has made 11 arrests between August 21 and August 27, 2023, and filed (15) counts of 211 P.C.-Robbery, (2) counts of 459 P.C.-Burglary, (11) counts of 487.P.C.-Grand Theft, (3) counts of 182-P.C. – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, (4) counts of 490.4 P.C.- Organized Retail Theft, (2) counts of 215 P.C.-Carjacking, (5) counts of 594(a) P.C.-Vandalism, (1) count of 30305(a)(1) P.C.-Possession of Ammunition, and (1) count of 20002(a)VC – Hit and Run.

From August 27 through August 31, 2023, ORCTF has made four additional arrests for Robbery and Conspiracy, as they have been linked to flash mob style robberies at retail locations in the Rampart Area, Pacific Area, and Culver City.

ORCTF will continue to take action against this criminal activity.
