WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department, Operations-South Bureau, in conjunction with community members, clergy, and concerned business leaders, will sponsor a community march and vigil to promote peace and to bring public attention to the recent gang violence that has plagued the community.  The “Community United Against Violence Peace March” will commence at 9 a.m. at 8500 S. Figueroa Street, proceed north to 82nd Street, south to 90th Street, and return to the original staging location.  All members of the public are invited to come out and support this important event.
