Los Angeles. Early Sunday morning a car careened into opposing traffic lanes before running off the road and hitting a man walking along on the sidewalk.
On July 31, 2011 at about 7:30 a.m., a 73-year-old woman from Los Angeles was driving a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder southbound Vermont Avenue at 8th Street when she veered into the northbound lanes of traffic, and off the roadway. Yueany Qisquina, a 27-year-old resident of Los Angeles was walking southbound Vermont Avenue on the east sidewalk when he was hit by the careening vehicle.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel transported Qisquina to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
