Los Angeles: On November 25, 2003, at about 5:30 p.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on La Mirada Avenue west of Van Ness Avenue in the Hollywood Area.
A pedestrian crossing mid-block between controlled intersections was struck as he walked directly into the path of a vehicle traveling westbound La Mirada Avenue. As a result of the impact, the pedestrian sustained massive head and shoulder trauma causing cardiac arrest. He was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification to his family.
