Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Hit and Run Driver NR18288ne

Northridge: The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a fatal hit and run, killing a 59-year-old woman.

On November 8th, 2018 at around 9:25 p.m., the woman was crossing northbound Devonshire Street east of Balboa Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk. As she crossed northbound Devonshire Street, she was struck by a black sport sedan going eastbound Devonshire Street.

The driver of the black sport sedan failed to stop and render aid, as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The victim is a resident of Lompoc, CA.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
