Chatsworth: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect(s) involved in a hit and run collision that killed a pedestrian.
On October 31, 2017, around 9:00 p.m., a white sedan was entering a driveway in the 20600 block of Lassen Street when it collided with a pedestrian. The driver briefly stopped and then fled the scene, failing to stop and identify himself or render aid to the victim, as required by law.
The hit and run vehicle is described as a white 2013 Kia Optima, with a black top.
The Los Angeles Fire Department transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The pedestrian was a 66 year-old-old male, resident of Chatsworth. His name is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
