Los Angeles: Los Angeles police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man who ran over two people Saturday night, killing one victim and seriously injuring the other.
On Saturday, August 5, 2006, around 2:25 a.m., Stanley Clark, 25, of Los Angeles, was involved in a fight with another individual. The fight started on the sidewalk of Vernon Avenue, between Central and Wadsworth Avenues, in the Avalon area of Los Angeles. The fight moved into the street. As the two men continued to battle, they were hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on Vernon. Clark was dragged underneath the vehicle for approximately 70 feet. The other man was thrown a short distance.
Clark suffered major injuries to his head, chest, and back, and was rushed by paramedics to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The second victim has not been identified. He was also taken to a local hospital and remains in serious condition. He is described as a male Black, approximately 25 years old.
The suspect fled the scene without stopping to identify himself or render aid. The suspect vehicle was a blue 1991-1992 Chevrolet Blazer. The driver was a male Hispanic.
