Press Conference Scheduled Regarding Take-Over Robberies Occurring in

On Thursday, October 7, 1999, at 11:30 a.m., Newton Community Police Station, located at 3400 South Central Avenue, will be conducting a press conference and a meeting with businesses regarding the current take-over robberies that have occurred in the fabric and textile industries within the Newton Area. The take-over robberies are becoming a big concern. The suspects are becoming more aggressive and we are working to avoid any serious injury to the community business people.

Speakers will include Newton Robbery Detective Michael Bauers and Mr. Philip Smith from UCLA. Also in attendance will be Captain Thomas Maeweather of Newton Division.
