Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 21 year-old male.
On October 13, 2002, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Los Angeles resident, Roberto Diego Bautista, was approached by two male, Hispanics in front of the "Fais Do-Do Club" located at 5235 West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The two suspects, who are suspected gang members, confronted Bautista and began to hit and kick him. A 34 year-old patron observed the unprovoked attack and came to Bautista’s aid. Suddenly, one of the attackers pulled out a handgun and began shooting at the two victims. Bautista was hit by the gunfire and died at the scene. The other patron was not injured.
Fleeing on foot, the two suspects left the scene and no weapon was recovered. They are described as male, Hispanics approximately 18 to 20 years of age.
Councilman Nate Holden will be attending the press conference to announce a $25.000 reward seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect(s) responsible for this crime.
The parents, family and friends will be attending the press conference and a photograph of the victim will also be available.
