"Reward Offered for Suspect in Murder"

Venice – On Wednesday, October 18, 2000, James Richards was shot and killed in the 500 block of Vernon Ave in Pacific Area. The suspect in this case fled and the suspect’s identity is unknown. On October 19, 2000 Detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division assumed responsibility for the murder investigation. On October 20, 2000 the Los Angeles City Council unanimously passed a motion authorizing a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those persons responsible for the murder of James Richards.
