Los Angeles: Wilshire Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of 62 year-old Robert Rangel of Los Angeles.
On August 21, 2000, Rangel failed to show up for work. This prompted his co-workers to contact his family and inquire into his whereabouts. Rangel’s brother conducted a welfare check at his residence located in the 100 block of North Gardner Street. The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and determined that the victim died, as a result of stab wounds.
The investigation revealed that the suspect(s) burglarized the victim’s house after the murder occurred. Among the stolen property, was the victim’s vehicle, a light blue 1990 Honda Accord, which was subsequently located in the 77th Division, partially stripped.
Photos of the victim, Robert Rangel, as well as Rangel family members will be available at the press conference.
The City Council has approved a $25,000.00 reward for anyone who has information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible in this matter.
