Robbery Suspect Arrested NR22093dm

Los Angeles: In early 2021, Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD), Robbery Special Section (RSS), identified an ongoing crime trend of follow home robberies. The suspects target victims in Los Angeles, follow them, and commit the robberies as the victims go into isolated areas such as a parking lot or as they arrive home.

On October 29, 2021, the adult victim left a design school located in the 9000 block of Lincoln Boulevard. The victim was returning to his business when he noticed a white Maserati following him. As the victim arrived at his business, located in the 1100 block of East Pico Boulevard, the Maserati drove up alongside and three suspects exited. The victim attempted to run away from the suspects but was chased and pushed to the ground. While on the ground, one suspect pointed a handgun at the victim’s head and demanded the victim remove his watch. Two additional suspects then removed the victim’s property. During the robbery, a fourth suspect removed the victim’s personal property from his car. The victim estimated his loss to be approximately $604,000 (two watches, a laptop, and an iPad).

Suspect #1 was described as a male Black, mid-20s, with black hair and brown eyes. He stood five feet eight inches tall and weighed approximately 160 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2 was described as a male Black, mid-20s, with black hair and brown eyes. He stood five feet six inches tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white shoes.

Suspect #3 was described as a male Black. He stood five feet 10 inches tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants, and black shoes.

Suspect #4 was described as a male Black wearing dark clothing.

All four suspects were seen in a white 4-door Maserati Ghibli.

RHD detectives developed several leads and ultimately identified 25-year-old Cheyenne Hale, a resident of Los Angeles, as one of the suspects involved in this robbery. With the assistance of detectives from LAPD’s Gang and Narcotics Division, a surveillance was initiated, and, on April 6, 2022, Hale was located and arrested without incident. During Hale’s arrest, detectives recovered a loaded handgun on his person. RHD detectives obtained a search warrant for his residence, which lead to the recovery of (7) additional handguns, $21,000 in US currency, and a large quantity of drugs that included cocaine, methamphetamine, and other illegal drugs. Hale was booked at 77th Jail on a Ramey warrant for 211 PC – Robbery, and has since posted bond.

This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.

RHD’s Follow Away Task Force assumed the investigative responsibilities of this case. Detectives believe Hale may be involved in other similar crimes.
