Security Guard Murdered

On October 31, 1999, at approximately 8:55 P.M., the victim Jose Francisco Flamenco, a 34 year old male Hispanic, was employed as a uniform security guard at the condominium complex at 9350 S. Maie Avenue.

The victim was walking in the courtyard area when a suspect armed with a firearm began shooting at the victim. Mr. Flaminco was hit multiple times in the upper torso and collapsed at the scene. Responding paramedics pronounced him at the scene.

The motive is unknown at this time and the suspect(s) are unidentified.

Southeast Area Homicide Detectives Bill Smith and Donovan Nickerson are handling this investigation.
