Westlake: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in a shooting investigation that resulted in the death of a man.
On Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 11:40 p.m., Rampart Area patrol officers responded to an, “Ambulance – Assault with a Deadly Weapon Just Occurred” radio call in front of the 300 block of S. Witmer Street. When officers arrived, they met with paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department, who were rendering aid to a male Hispanic in his forties that had been struck in the torso by gunfire. The victim was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
