Severe Injury Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR21013dm

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for a hit and run traffic collision that severely injured a 47-year-old man.

On January 4, 2021, around 12:00 p.m., a pedestrian was on the roadway repairing a bicycle just west of Nevin Avenue. A suspect in an early 1990’s model white Chevrolet full size “work” truck, travelling west on Adams Boulevard, struck the pedestrian then fled the scene and failed to stop to render aid and identify himself or herself.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with severe injuries.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
