Sexual Assault Arrest Involving a Retired NFL Player NR14021sm

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery Homicide Division, Sexual Assault Section is conducting an investigation involving Darren Sharper a resident of Miami Beach, Florida, and a retired National Football League (NFL) player.  Sharper is currently a sports commentator with the NFL network.

On January 17, 2014, Darren Sharper was arrested in Los Angeles.  Sharper has been linked to two sexual assaults that occurred in the West Los Angeles Area. The assaults are believed to have occurred on October, 2013 and January, 2014.   At this time the investigation is ongoing.

Sharper was arrested for 261(a)(3) PC – Rape and booked at Metropolitan Jail Section, booking #3836657. Sharper’s bail was set at $200,000 dollars.
