Shooting in Koreatown leaves One Man Dead NR19099gk

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for killing a man.

On Monday, April 8, 2019, around 10:14 p.m. officers assigned to Olympic Area responded to a radio call of “Ambulance Shooting,” near the 900 block of St. Andrews Place. When officers arrived, they were directed to 21-year-old Jorge Gracida of Los Angeles, who was the victim of a shooting.

The suspect approached Gracida, who was with two friends and a verbal dispute ensued. The suspect then challenged one of the men to fight, pulled out a handgun and a physical altercation occurred. Gracida tried to disarm the suspect, but was shot during the altercation. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and pronounced Gracida dead at scene.

The suspect is described as a male around 25 years of age, wearing dark clothing. He was last seen fleeing the location south on St. Andrews Place.
