Sun Valley: Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for a deadly shooting.
On December 16, 2023, at 1:20 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon Shots Fired” on Lorne Street, west of Vineland Avenue. When the officers arrived, they located two victims, one male and one female. Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported both victims to a local hospital where the female victim was pronounced deceased. The male victim underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victims were walking to their vehicle, when another vehicle approached. A suspect inside the vehicle fired multiple rounds, striking both victims. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.
The suspects were described as males with light brown skin. The vehicle was a dark colored, four door sedan.
