Shooting Leaves Man Dead NR17348ml

Arleta: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man.

On Thursday November 23, 2017, at about 8:20 p.m., LAPD Mission Area officers responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon,” at the 14200 block of Gager Street in the City of Arleta.

Upon officer’s arrival, they located a male victim unconscious and not breathing inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately requested Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics response as they performed CPR. Upon paramedic’s arrival, they attempted emergency medical aid, but the victim died from his injury he sustained at scene.

LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide detectives were notified and responded to the scene.

Detectives investigation revealed, on Thursday November 23, 2017, around8:15 p.m., the victim was inside of his mother’s residence when he was confronted by a suspect. A possible physical altercation ensued at which time the suspect shot the victim causing his death.

Based on Homicide detective’s preliminary investigation, this was a targeted crime and not random. The victim has been identified as twenty-six-year-old Steven Tang from the City of Arleta.

Suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, in his 20’s, and he is currently outstanding.
