On December 16, 2021, around 12:55 p.m., Mission Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 15100 block of Chatsworth Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a male victim, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim and a family member were at the location on the sidewalk. A dark sedan approached, and a suspect exited the vehicle. An argument ensued, at which time the suspect shot the victim, re-entered the dark sedan and fled north on Burnet Avenue.
The suspect was described as a male in his 20’s.
