Los Angeles – On Sunday, August 20, 2000, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Southeast Community Police Station police officers received a call of “shots fired” at 118th Street and San Pedro Street. Upon their arrival, the officers observed Stephen Allison, a 41 year-old African-American male lying in the middle of the street. The Los Angeles Fire Department was already providing emergency medical treatment to Mr. Allison for several gunshot wounds. Mr. Allison did not respond to medical treatment and was pronounced dead.
Little is known regarding the circumstances of Mr. Allison’s death, however, Southeast Detectives believe the victim was crossing the street near his home, when he was shot several times by an African-American male suspect. No further description of the suspect is available. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
