Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Detective Division, Robbery Section, are investigating a shooting that occurred in front of the business located near the 20 block of Windward Avenue, Venice, California. The shooting was captured on cell phone video.
On March 7, 2018, around 10:20 p.m., the victim was outside a business when the suspect approached the victim and an altercation occurred. During the altercation, the suspect armed himself with a semi-automatic handgun and fired several rounds at the victim. The victim was struck multiple times and the suspect fled westbound on Windward Avenue to northbound Speedway. The victim was hospitalized and is in stable condition.
On March 8, 2018, around 4:20 p.m., Pacific officers located the suspect, identified as Robert Lee Mewhorter, near the scene of the crime.
Robert Lee Mewhorter, a 46-year-old-male, was arrested for 664/187 PC, Attempted Murder and his bail is set for $2,080, 000, Booking No. 5252690.
