Los Angeles: A Korean store owner died this afternoon as a result of head trauma caused by three shoplifters on Sunday evening.
On Sunday, March 5, shortly after 5:00 p.m., the victim, In Taek Kwon, confronted three male Hispanics who walked out of the 98 Cents Discount Store at the 2500 block of West Temple Street without paying for spray paint containers. The suspects attacked Mr. Kwon and struck him on the head with their fists, knocking him to the ground. Mr. Kwon was transported to a local hospital where he was admitted due to head trauma and listed in critical condition.
On Tuesday, March 7, 2006, Mr. Kwon’s physical condition worsened and he died as a result of his injuries.
The suspects were described as three male Hispanics, shaved heads, 5’10 to 6 feet tall, weighing 170- 200 pounds. Suspect-1 wore a brown sweatshirt and dark pants. Supect-2 wore a black jacket and black pants. The third suspect was described as a male Hispanic about 6 feet tall.
