"Sobriety Checkpoint in Hollywood Area"

Hollywood – In an effort to reduce the number of fatal injury traffic collisions involving the intoxicated drivers, the West Traffic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint. The sobriety checkpoint will be operational on Saturday, October 7, 2000 between the hours of 9:00 P.M. and 1:00 A.M. The checkpoint will be in position on Sunset Boulevard at Cassil Place in the Hollywood Area. The Officer-in-Charge is Sergeant David Ferry of the West Traffic Division Driving Under the Influence Team. Approximately 20 officers and 3 supervisors from West Traffic Division and Hollywood Divisions will be running this sobriety checkpoint.
